Around The Clock

ESPN is having their annual 25 hours of non-stop college basketball. I am going to break down the biggest games of these next 25 hours.

Miami @ #19 Memphis: This is the tip-off game at 12 AM this morning. Memphis comes into this game with a big distraction. The Tigers just let go star freshman/McDonald's All-American Jelan Kendrick. Regardless, these Tigers are still loaded with talent. This is a young and dangerous team who likes to attack. On the other side you have a solid Miami Hurricanes team. As an ACC team, they will present some what of a challenge. This team is lead by guard Malcolm Grant and forward Reggie Johnson. These guys are very talented scorers. Miami will keep it close, but I like Memphis by 10 at home.

#24 Virginia Tech @ #3 Kansas State: It does not matter the sport, Virginia Tech likes to start of their seasons with huge games. This is no exception. The Hokies travel to The Octagon of Doom. Kansas State is lead by star guard Jacob Pullen. Nick Russel is an emerging sophomore player as well. The issue for this Kansas State team is finding another outlet besides Jacob Pullen. Virginia Tech is an interesting team. They have leadership from their senior guards Malcolm Delaney and Dorenzo Hudson. They also have leadership from their senior big man Jeff Allen. But they have lost a couple key pieces to injury. Guard Allan Chaney and forward JT Thompson could be out for the year. This game will be a dogfight, but Kansas State ,with the home crowd behind them, win by 5.
I will have breakdown of Florida Ohio State game tomorrow.- Josh Neighbors
